This week the finalists were announced for the the Lingerie Insight UK Lingerie Awards. Some firm favourites were are in there and some deserving companies unfortunately absent, however all worthy of the finals.
The judges for the UK Lingerie Awards, , are:
Rigby & Peller owner and Queen’s corsetiere June Kenton, Debenhams’ lingerie head of design and buying Sharon Webb, De Montfort University course leader Gillian Proctor, The Lingerie Collective founder Kelly Isaac, Intimate Apparel Consultancy founder Claire Franks, celebrity lingerie designer Nichole de Carle and Lingerie Insight editor Kat Slowe.It’s wonderful to see so many familiar names represented under such diverse and cleverly selected categories, with innovative entries such as ‘Sports Bra Brand of the Year’ and ‘Ethical Brand of the Year’, I’m pleased to see so many great companies represented for the hard and unique work they contribute to the lingerie industry.It’s great to see curve and fashion friendly newbies Curvy Kate doing so well in the nominations, however I’m quite amazed that Freya did not make the final three of ‘Full Bust Brand of the Year’ yet Debenhams Gorgeous range did a brand I’ve never gottIen on well with and never been excited by their brands or fit. Had they been in there, it would have near-enough been my own personal top 3! (Minus Ewa Michalak).
