Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to host a reader meet and greet at the Triumph pop up shop, Maison Triumph, in Covent Garden, Central London. I turned up to the store super early, eager to meet multiple readers for the first time. I’ve only ever met readers in the past who were friends of friends and on a one-to-one basis, so meeting a group of you was really quite something to me. It helps that the evening was fueled by a mountain of fruit salad, brownies and bubbles, and of course great bra-related chat. I’d visited the store before, so I knew it was going to be a really cute venue for an intimate meetup. I love the feel of the place and I thought it would be perfect for something like this.
The walls are adorned with bras of all sorts of sizes, and I wondered which of them would be taken away by the readers who were due to start turning up in just over an hour’s time. I was certainly not disappointed by the turnout; an amazing 23 people showed up, all ready and willing to chat bras with me! It’s not every day I’m surrounded by people who placate me and my need to talk about boobs and bras for any extended period of time, so a good few hours with people who really wanted to talk about undergarments was quite the treat! It was super awesome to see ladies of all ages there – it was a super-diverse group of lingerie lovers! When we had our bra discussions and Q&A session with me, it was interesting to hear all the different problems that people faced and the differing relationships these ladies had with their bras.
There was one rather glamourous lady who’s lingerie drawer helps her feel and look a million dollars on a daily basis, and one 32G lady who’d not worn an underwired bra in years! As well as everyone’s different stories, it was cool to share the problems that we all face: horror stories from fitting rooms past, helping each other with tips and tricks for shopping online, washing our bras, finding the perfectly-fitting bra, and all that good stuff. This little lady came all the way from Australia (ok, not just to meet me, but it was still awesome!) – thanks for making the trip, Marta! It was a pleasure to meet with you and chat about travelling and the perils of online bra shopping.
Everyone who came along had a professional fitting with one of the Triumph experts, and got to take away their favourite bra as a thank you gift. There were some seasoned bra experts amongst the attendees, and many who had brought their family and friends along with them to share the chest investing, which I thought was brilliant! So once again, thank you everyone who made it along to the Triumph Bra Club, and I hope you all thoroughly enjoy your lingerie sets. Please do let me know how you get on with them! It was an honour and a privilege to meet you all and I’d love to do something similar very soon to meet even more of you! Have you ever been to a blogger meet and greet? Do you think this is something I should host again in the future?
