When it comes to buying bras, or anything for that matter, I’m what can only be described as a ‘massive bargain hunter’. It’s extremely rare that I’ll buy anything full price, and my lingerie addiction rarely evades this philosophy. The good news is there are so so so many options for frugal frillies – so for those of you waiting on payday or your student loan, you needn’t wait to kit out your top drawer! When I clocked this style back in August at the Moda trade show, it’s not one that immediately rocked my socks. Sure, it’s hella pretty, with a gorgeous ‘floriental’ print, but with all the bright colours and kitsch prints that go hand in hand with Freya’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, the Babes in The Wood range was a little lost amongst the noise.
Whilst it felt a little like an Eveden commercial (I can’t think of a single brand mentioned other than Freya, Fantasie, Elomi and Huit – all brands which fall under the Eveden Group), I felt it was a pretty sound explanation of not only how to reach your ‘correct’ bra size but also the whys and wherefores of what makes something a good fit.
Since Becky very sadly had to go see her favourite band of all time and missed out on the last Moda show, she’d not seem these collections ‘in the flesh’, so she was particularly keen to go along to Eveden’s press event for their Spring/Summer 2013 collections for their brands Freya, Fantasie, Elomi and Huit. You may remember that a few weeks ago I posted about Freya’s latest rendition of their ‘Blog Star’ competition. You’ve clicked, you’ve voted, and now Freya’s latest blog panel have been announced!
Summer hasn’t even started and already the brands are getting ready to showcase their upcoming collections for later in the year. Luckily for us, Eveden have a few tricks up their sleeves as they showcased what’s to come later in the year.
When Cheryl and I went to MODA together back in August, we were lucky enough to see most of the S/S12 collection, but nothing quite compares to a press event. There’s a sense of urgency at Moda – as bloggers we can feel in the way of ‘serious’ buyers and not really take our time going through the collections. By this I actually mean cuddling them all in sheer glee and taking a million photos to lust over at a later date. Don’t get me wrong, Moda is wonderful and all the brands are so welcoming, but as Freya fan girls sometimes we just need an unnecessary amount of time with the beautiful lingerie, and the recent Eveden press event was the perfect opportunity for this.
Sadly Cheryl could’t come for the day, much to her annoyance (read: strop) and whilst I was going along any ways, I realised it was time I stepped up my game and masqueraded as a different blonde for the day. Instructed to take as many photos as I possibly could, off I went to London, invite in hand.
We were advised before that the day would take on a 1920’s, art deco theme and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Continue reading “Freya, Fauve, Fantasie, Elomi and Huit 8 Press Event Spring/Summer 2012”
I came close to calling this blog posts ‘Moda’s worst bits’… simply because these beauties had a bittersweet effect on me. All of them a lust-have, but like the most haunting crushes, I’ve fallen for something (probably) unattainable. As a 28FF in general, I have my doubts that any of these will fit me, but hey, a girl can dream, right?
I was kindly invited along to the Eveden studios in London yesterday to get a closer look at the A/W swimwear and lingerie collections for the umbrella company’s off-shoots Freya, Fantasie, Elomi, Fauve and huit 8.
After at first getting a little bit lost running around Oxford and Carnaby street trying to find the address I called the lovely Natalie Mortlock from Eveden’s PR department who directed me to the studio and gave me a walk through the collections. Continue reading “Eveden A/W 2011 Press Launch”
