It goes without saying that some of the main focuses of this blog are the ‘problems’ faced by larger busted women when shopping for lingerie. This is a problem that I as a 30FF know all too well, and that women with even bigger boobs know even better. What’s worth noting, however, are the problems faced by smaller busted women. Many are just as troubled by poor fitting services, resulting in badly fitted bras, but are made to feel like bra fitting ‘isn’t as important’ for smaller boobs. I’m here today to contest that.
Ask and you shall get, readers, even if it is with a fair bit of reluctance. When it comes to dressing for my curves I can’t say I’m particularly adventurous, and once I find something that fit and works, I’m known to buy it in 4 colours and mix it up with various coloured tops. I think it’s safe to say that ‘experimental’ doesn’t really enter my wardrobe, and it all tends to vary on a theme of high-waisted skirts, dresses (particularly of the tea variety) and loose fit jersey t-shirts. Loose for two reasons: to fit and conceal my bust… but always drawn back in at the waist.
Today you might have received a beautiful set of lingerie from your dear other half, or perhaps you’re decided the best way to spend Valentines is to celebrate/comiserate (arguably both) about the joys/perils otf singledom with a lovely sexy set of frills, lace, polka dots, ribbons *sighs and looks whimsically out of the window and wonders why any woman would need a man when she’s got lingerie*… Photo credit: Jon Pumpkin But something that I think we should all remember is: like puppies on Christmas day – not unlike your own puppies today – gorgeous lingerie should not be confined to February 14th.
The Tempt Me is a set from Curvy Kate which I’ve always kept a wide berth of as some regular readers may know I don’t have much luck with deep ‘V’ plunge bras for one reason or another. I bought the Tempt Me a good few months ago in my usual 28FF which I found to be ridiculously small in the cups for me and a bit of a weird shape. After reading blogs from the likes of Amoire de Nuit who found that going down a band size and up THREE cup sizes the Tempt Me fit perfectly, still with ample fun and flirty cleavage. I followed this recipe as much as I could and bought myself a 28GG from Brastop.
Onyx, 65F ‘Black padded halfcup bra. Push up pads and 3 pairs of removable shoulder straps.’ 129.00zł This bra was one of my favourites from my Ewa Michalak haul but was also the one which I felt needed the most to be a band size down. I ordered 65F in all the bras I purchased from them as this is the smallest back size available which can still be returned. In the ‘Onyx’ I feel like I definitely need a 60FF as the back band is much stretchier and looser than any of the other styles I tried. I will be returning this bra in exchange for a 60FF, however you can still see from the images of the 65F that this bra is simply stunning.
Koralik, 65F ‘Padded halfcup bra.’ 109.00zł This bra is absolutely stunning and I love the colour of it. Fits wonderfully around the cups and back, my only gripe with it is the minuscule straps which weren’t painful or cutting but were certainly a bit irritating. Even though the straps should only take about 10% of the breast weight, I still feel like I need the straps to be a bit bigger to hold up the girls comfortably.
Cieluś, 65F ‘Padded plunge bra in nude.’ 119.00zł This one I picked out as it looked like the perfect basic nude plunge bra. The detail along the upper part of the cup adds a little bit of something to what would otherwise be a fairly plain bra, however any girl knows the place for the perfect nude plunge (think t-shirts, the white work shirt, sheer tops, etc.) This bra seems like the plunge I have been waiting for.
