Regular readers may be aware of my love for the Freya ‘Zara’ bra, after it got a whopping 9.5/10 back in April of last year, with the only thing letting it down from that top spot 100% being its print which had an… aquired taste. This season, Freya have bounced back with this fantastic cut which has quickly become my all-time favourite from the brand.. Also seen in the Tara last season of Autumn/Winter 2011 – another print that didn’t leave me particularly excited – the ‘Beau’ is absolutely gorgeous.
I think I must have been living under a rock for the past year in a half as I’ve not come yet reviewed a Mimi Holiday bra on my blog, despite being pleasantly reminded at the Moda Exhibition last weekend that their size range is the very respectable 28-40 AA-GG. Similarly to Miss Mandalay, Mimi Holiday’s higher price point has been one of the main reasons I’ve admired from afar; they’re a little higher than the average student’s lingerie budget, averaging at £50 a bra on Simply Yours. Now I’ve found myself in one of those ever-elusive things called a job, I’ve started to expand my lingerie horizons to the slightly more expensive brands. And boy are they worth the extra pennies.
I myself can’t really understand this, but looks wise this bra seems to be dividing opinions. It seems to be the bra form of Marmite, with people either being absolutely head over heels on love with it, or comparing it to a ‘bad 1970’s sofa’. I can’t quite decide where I stand with this one, and at first glance I was definitely in the ‘in love with it’ category, despite the set being very unlike my ‘usual’ taste.
I thought it might be amusing to put up some of our ‘out take’ photos from 2011 to show you the fun Becky and I have making our review posts for you guys. Unfortunately one SD card FULL of our meanderings has gone walkabouts but the one I had to hand had plenty of funny moments which I hope you enjoy. Happy 2012 from us at Invest In Your Chest and thanks for making 2011 such a blast.
You’ve seen us go buck wild about this year’s Autumn/Winter offering from Curvy Kate, and it certainly got out brain cogs turning as to what they’ll have in store for us a year from now. Want a quick sneak peek? Oh go on then… If you follow Curvy Kate on Facebook or Twitter you may have seen some of these pictures already, but CK’s Hannah sent me some sneak peek shots of what we can expect from the big-busted super-brand in (approximately) 365 days time:
Panache’s Press Event was an absolute pleasure to attend. All of their brands were extremely strong for the approaching season and all were outstandingly beautiful, original and luxe. Panache’s strength lies in their directional approach, strong visuals and ‘niche’ collections: Masquerade for luxury, Cleo for fun, Superbra for beautiful everyday and all for fit.
I came close to calling this blog posts ‘Moda’s worst bits’… simply because these beauties had a bittersweet effect on me. All of them a lust-have, but like the most haunting crushes, I’ve fallen for something (probably) unattainable. As a 28FF in general, I have my doubts that any of these will fit me, but hey, a girl can dream, right?
