The Royce sports bra was a nice fit despite some slight bagginess and wrinkling when first putting on (I thought I needed to go down a half cup size at first) but I’ve found that with this bra your really need to ‘place yourself’ in the middle of what can only be described as a ‘breast hammock’ area since it doesn’t really have ‘cups’ as such. The 28 band was fairly generous but I enjoyed the fit of the bra band wise. The lack of cups meant my breasts weren’t really ‘placed’ anywhere and were supported very much down to the ‘compression’ method that I spoke about in my introductory post.
I personally wasn’t a huge fan of this bra since there was quite a lot of boob movement both on the treadmill and on my bicycle ride, and even by compressing my boobs into a smaller cup size (the FF was more than enough squish thank you very much) I don’t think it could have measured up to some of the other bra’s I’ve been testing out. The Royce ‘Impact Free’ gives quite a minimised ‘uni-boob’ shape which isn’t that appealing to me, but other than that it ain’t a half bad looking bra. This bra got the gym and cycling treatment – imagine me battling with the crosstrainer, running and rowing machines and juddering over uneven gravel paths and pot-holes. The Royce ‘Impact Free’ passed the cross-trainer test with flying colours but the running machine gave me quite a bit of boob movement and I felt quite a few of the cycle path’s lumps and bumps.
The cups are very full and there is generally quite a lot of material to this bra which I really enjoyed since (for the somewhat daring sports fans) it could be worn as a top to the gym without too many sidewards glances. I didn’t try this test out myself for the sake of my fellow gym-goers, however I can certainly imagine the regular gym bunny donning one. That said, I think this bra would be a really comfortable option for someone wanting to do light exercise such as walking, yoga and other low impact sports. This is a little ironic considering the name of the bra but nonetheless this bra’s comfort factor and impressive size range keeps it from being a write-off.
