When Cheryl mentioned Affinitas to me, I was on their website creating a mental wish list before she’d stopped talking, because really there’s nothing more exciting than a new lingerie brand. I wasn’t just pleasantly surprised but giddy with excitement as I looked at all the beautiful designs, all individually named with a distinct style. You’d think by now the thrill of something new would be long gone but when a brand like this pops up, it’s like being a kid at Christmas all over again. I was lucky enough to be sent two styles – the Charlotte and the Honey.Ever since I saw the Charlotte, I knew I had to own it. I’m such a sucker for a blush colour with black detailing, so it was no surprise that my heart skipped a beat when it finally arrived in the post. The pictures on the website do not do this beauty justice, I felt like a pin-up girl when I put it on! The fit in the cup was just so, and it gave me enough of a cleavage to leave an impression.I will say that it had a bad side – the back size. I don’t think I’ve ever felt a 30 band so firm in my life, it felt just like a 28. I imagine it’d loosen up with wear (and a wash) and I have worn it on a number of occasions since, but it sure is tight. There’s supportive, and then there’s this…perhaps a 32 would have been advisable? I cannot stress enough how snug it felt, so please take that into account before buying! I have persevered though, and nothing could come between me and my Charlotte. It also comes in red but ironically pales in comparisson to the peach colour. Not only that, but there’s the option of matching high waisted knickers which are rarer than hens teeth in the land of D+ bras. They too include all the adorable trimmings, with added bows, to give the set a sense of retro glamour that I can’t get enough of.Attractiveness: 10/10Fit: 8/10Comfort: 8/10Styling: 10/10Support: 10/10Shape: 10/10Price vs. Quality: 9/10Re-purchasability: 10/10Invest In Your Chest Rating: 9.5/10 And whilst I’m completely enamoured with the Charlotte, it was the Honey set that really won me over, but more specifically the babydoll. The bra was just as snug in the back and whilst the fabric once again felt wonderful against my skin, something about the fit of the cup didn’t – quite literally – sit right. There seemed to be a slight amount of extra fabric along the seam, something I’ve experienced before because of the shape of my boobs. It’s not a major issue though, nothing a bit of manhandling and strap adjusting can’t sort. The subtle layered look of the bra worked well with the slightly extravagant lace detailing on the straps, and stopped the bra from looking too simple. I cannot stress enough the quality of the fabric though. It’s fairly thick, with a silky feel on the outside, giving a cushioned feeling at all times. The fit (aside from the cup hiccough) was spot on, with the wires fulling encasing me without feeling too tight and no empty space underneath. If the back size was a fraction bigger this bra, like the Charlotte, would be absolutely perfect. Cheryl even tried this one on and found the band fit her 28 band frame nicely. But really, all I want to talk about is the Honey babydoll which I am so smitten with. At first I was a little alarmed to have been sent sent a babydoll. I’m so used to them being a bit of bedroom-only underwear, or sleepwear, the idea that one existed that was designed not only for bra sizes but up to a G cup that would fit me so well is something I never thought I’d see. Given the lowered back strap, it fit a little looser than the bra, but still a firm 30. The cup sizing was near flawless, which I was thrilled about, and gives a cracking cleavage. Because of the boost, it does run a little close to the nipples. Not dangerously so, the babydoll is still 100% wearable, but still something to point out. The sheer fabric felt even more amazing against my skin and the lace along the straps lined the bottom, complimenting the design perfectly. Now whilst I was in love with the item, I was a little unsure about its practicality. Do people wear babydolls in place of normal underwear? I wouldn’t mind just lounging about in it (or saving it for a special occasion) but it seemed a waste considering it was so lovely and in my size, I’d like to be able to wear it all the time! So, I dubiously tried it under a simple, jersey H&M dress, one I wear perhaps a little too often. And you know what? It actually worked.OK, so my cleavage got me a few looks when I went to my local post office that day, but overall it was completely wearable. The super light weight fabric used, whilst seemingly floaty when the item is worn on its own, sat nicely under clothing and thankfully couldn’t be seen under clothing thanks to tell-tale bunching. It didn’t irritate my skin either, which is a huge plus. I do have notoriously sensitive skin that even the sight of scratchy lace can cause me to come out in a rash but it clung to my curves without ever getting in the way or driving me mad. One huge bonus point to the Parfait range is the quality of fabrics used, I cannot praise them highly enough. You can tell you’re getting your moneys worth as they’re beyond soft. I probably wouldn’t wear the babydoll under anything skin tight, given the lace detailing along the bottom and no doubt the extra fabric would should under, say a bodycon dress, but apart from that it worked really well under ‘normal’ clothing and certainly put a spring in my step.Attractiveness: 9/10Fit:9/10Comfort: 8/10Styling: 9/10Support: 9/10Shape: 9/10Price vs. Quality: 9/10Re-purchasability: 10/10Invest In Your Chest Rating: 9/10Generally speaking I’m more than impressed with the Parfait by Affinitas range. The fabrics and designs look and feel expensive, making the products feel even more luxurious. The detailing throughout also makes you feel ever-so glamourous and for that reason alone the brand has won me over. The sizing, however, is slightly off from what I consider ‘standard’ but it is manageable. By this I mostly mean be aware of the back size. I consider myself a very average 30 back, and all three items were VERY snug. Since this brand starts from a 30 band, this is good news for 28 backs! I’d even consider going for a 32, for comforts sake. I obviously felt supported, but perhaps a bit too much. They were all completely wearable, but I may consider getting some back extenders (Definitely not what they’re called) to wear with these styles. If you’re the average to bigger half of your back size definitely size up, and I don’t think anyone need size down with this brand. The same can be said of the matching underwear, it comes up a little too small for my liking. It’s not that I have a problem with ordering a bigger size (I’m not a label snob!) but definitely size up. And for once I don’t just think it’s my larger-than-life bottom that was causing the problem. As far as cup sizes go though, I found them to be pretty spot on, if not cut slightly lower than I’m used to wearing. I’m far too used to my higher cut sheer bras though and no doubt that’s made me more aware of the distance between nip and cup.I can’t wait to see what’s up next from the brand, I’ve personally got my eye on the aruba blue Athena, the purple blue Donna and given the success of the Honey babydoll, I’m sure it won’t be long until I add the Fiona to my new collection. Well, just one babydoll? It’ll get lonely by itself…To find where you can get your mitts on some Affinitas or to check out their other styles check out their website.** These bras were gifted by Affinitas Intimates for review purposes.
