Panache Masquerade ‘Capella’: Bra Review

You may have seen this set in my Valentine’s full bust gift guide post, but here it is in it’s full glory in the flesh. You got it – the Panache Capella. Since spying this beauty at the Panache Spring/Summer 2012 press event I’ve found it very hard to concentrate on anything other than champagne satin and printed lace. Just look at it – isn’t it a marvel? This was without a doubt one of my best picks from the Panache Spring/Summer 2012 collection – if not of the whole season! The colour looks amazing on my pale skin, but it’s one of those shades that is so universally flattering. Without it being a too-predictable beige or ‘tan’, this delicate champagne colour has twice the bubble and fizz. It’s grown up, stylish and expensive looking without the high-end price tag.

The printed lace is such a unique feature. I can’t think of any other full busted company using this concept in recent years – and although a lace overlay is somewhat dime a dozen there is something about this printed lace effect which is just so beautiful.

The fit is really lovely – although I found the cups a touch too small for me, I think that’s not so much an issue with the cups of this bra being too small, it’s more a case of me being currently more like a 28G. The 28FF that I’m wearing in these pictures fit fine, but as with many Masquerade styles I would have liked to have tried a 30 band – so I think a 30FF would have been perfect.

The knickers were the perfect shorty style and so flattering and beautifully cut for my curves. In fact I think the knickers (in my usual size 10) could have been made for me. There was no muffin top effect or digging in anywhere. Just perfect.

Masquerade are one of those fail-safe brands that (after a bit of playing about with sizes and styles) I know I can count on for an amazing fit, shape and uplift. This ‘Capella’ style has the sweetest delicate neckline which is so flattering like a balconette but gave a cleavage that a plunge bra would be jealous of.

The silky soft satin fabric in the most beautiful shade of the season, the luxurious French lace bow and stunning printed lace make this bra a beauty to behold, but add a sprinkle of that famous Panache fit and you’ve got something really special.

  1. I love the Capella set 🙂

If you’re between sizes you should definitely pick the bigger cup sizes, that’s what we experienced too.

It looks great on you 🙂

  2. This set is gorgeous!

I just received the Masquerade Coco set. Unfortuately, I’m having the opposite problem with band sizes. My usual 30 is coming up a little big, but to go down to a 28 I think I would need a 28H, and that knocks quite a few of the Masquerade styles out.

  3. I love your blog, and check here often to see your latest reviews and info. I am fairly new to the world of properly fitting bras, but have been learning alot through blogs such as yours! While I am not in the ‘small’ back range,( being around a 36 back usually). I still find the information and reviews relevant. Which brings me to my question, with the Capella, which I love the look of, would you recommend sizing up a band for most people. Or do you feel the tightness you mentioned, is more just due to your current sizing?

      1. Thanks for the reply. Yes it does help!. I was leaning towards trying the 36 as I do think upsizing would probably be a bit big. Thanks again.

  5. I have been lusting after this bra for some time now and just found it on sale online. I am a 30E in Freya bras but in Masquerade I take a 32DD. Ordered the 32DD for this bra and it was perfect – definitely wouldn’t want a smaller band size so I would say this bra is in line with the sizing for the rest of the Masquerade line. And ooooooooh is it gorgeous! Gives a great shape without too much padding and the smooth lace pattern is genius!
