Elle Macpherson’s lingerie line has always been on my list of brands to try. Whilst a lot of the items are exceedingly grown up for the likes of me, sometimes we all need a good basic, ‘grown up’ set in our lingerie drawers. Am I right?
Boux Avenue and I have never really got along. It’s true, I’ve writtenpreviously about their questionable in-store fitting service and previousreviews have had low scores.
In fact, whilst I’ve made a few recommendations to friends about trying their bras for size, I’ve near enough avoided entering a Boux Avenue store since my last blog post in 2012. It wasn’t until a recent trip to Bristol when I spotted a super-cute fluoro orange bikini caught my eye the week before my holiday that I popped in. Continue reading “Boux Avenue Alarna: Bra Review”
I have recently gotten really tired of ALL my bras, so have been on a huge spending spree to give my lingerie drawer a bit of a refresh. Living in Bournemouth, there’s not much choice when it comes to bras in my size, and even less of a choice of reputable fitting outlets. On this blog you’ll notice that I will always include a link to where you can buy the products that I feature, just to make life a bit easier. I usually just search for a big online retailer who stocks the product in a large size range so that you’ll be most likely to be able to pick one up.
I’ll admit that, from an independent retailer’s perspective, this isn’t always the best approach to take. Independent retailers tend to focus heavily on the in store experience. Many don’t have a website, either because they want to focus on women coming into the store and having a fitting with a real expert, or because, let’s face it, not every small business has the capacity to operate as an online retailer, let alone compete with the likes of Figleaves and Debenhams. Say hello to my ‘going out’ bra. This is my go-to LBD bra, and I’m sure you can see why. It’s not often I get a good cleavage in anything, (and I mean ‘good’ cleavage where the bra still actually fits and is comfortable, with no double, triple or quadruple boob in sight!) so when I first tried on my Ewa Michalak S Szykuś, I knew we were going to be friends.
The Panache Jasmine has been in my collection for quite some time now (hence why I’m showing off my beautiful oriental print version circa Autumn/Winter 2012!), but they re-release and re-release this style season after season, always in pretty prints and standout shades and it never fails to catch my attention.
