It’s the post you’ve all be waiting for, and one of my favourites to do (such a shame it only comes around twice a year, sob sob). As always I’ve been on the look out for exciting new releases from brands we know and love as well as new, fresh faces, as well as key shades, themes and shapes that we’ll all get to enjoy come the beginning of next year.
So what does Spring/Summer 2013 have to offer us? Let’s have a look-see:
Key Shade: Pastelle
Not the most original or unexpected trend for Spring/Summer, but I noted that there was a HUGE amount of pastel shades, watercolour washes, and vintage rinse shades littering the show floor. Think pale, pale and paler still; we’re talking pastel colours that have been on a hot rinse for two weeks.
The prettiest of all are teamed with lace, print and delicate embroidery, and there’s plenty of powder pinks, lilacs and blues!

Key Shade: Sorbet
Now we take pastel and add a little extra juice. Sorbet is a trend which looks good enough to eat, with fruity tones brightening up any skin tone and putting a smile on anyone’s face.
With bright lemons, pistachios, raspberry, strawberry and apricot shades and many more, I found myself drooling over these sweet treats and wanting to team them with a sprig of mint. All fresh, bright and bold, but sugary-sweet undertones keep shades girly and perfect for Summer.

Key trend: Kitsch
A shout back to old-school glamour teamed seamlessly with cuteness, Kitsch was a trend that ran throughout the show. Prints which might look more at home on a five year old, candy stripes and polka dot galore will have you flirting your way out of many a sticky situation.
Embrace your inner fun side with this pretty, feminine and fun look which promises to put a Spring in your step. Get it?! Sorry, couldn’t resist…

Key Trend: Floral
Again, not the most unexpected addition to a Spring/Summer lust list, but floral is very much here to stay. It’s not your average floral, however, and is a little bit different to the ditsy prints of 2011. This time it’s a lot more ‘Liberty’ than ‘Cath Kidston’ and with much more of a graphic influences.
Shades are fresh and often in keeping with the ‘sorbet’ and ‘bright’ themes – so there’s nothing dull and predictable about this season’s floral!

Key Trend: Colour Pop
Not only are these colours bold, statement-making and in your face, more often than not they’re teamed with an in-your-face shade which clashes to the point that you’d expect the combo not to work but it so does. Acid brights and electro hues keep Spring/Summer lingerie and swimwear loud and proud, and with a hint of bubblegum shades thrown into the mix. Get in my collection, now!
