Masquerade Delphi Guest Bra Review

We’ve got a treat for you readers today…a review of not one, but TWO Masquerade products…and by a very special guest! Read on…

Every once in a while Cheryl and I get guest reviewers in mostly because of our sizes. Sadly not all garments come in a 28FF/30G, but we still want to fill the blog with lovely helpful reviews. Thankfully we know a wealth of beautiful ladies willing to help us and the blog out. But this time around our guest reviewer lives a little further afield…
Back in February, Cheryl received an email from an Invest In Your Chest reader based in New Zealand named Emily seeing if we’d like a guest review. And we couldn’t turn down an offer like that now, could we?! Emily is reviewing both the basque and the bra by Masquerade (a sister brand of Panache). We LOVE Masquerade, and I think we’re going to have to go out and buy this beautiful basque…
So, without further ado, this review (and a little introduction) comes courtesy of our latest guest blogger, enjoy!
“Hello! My name is Emily, I’m from the land of bad bras, also known as New Zealand. I’m 17, 18 next week and I’m an artist in the making; so I’m just working until I decide what the best plan of action is, so yay money! It’s probably all going to go on bras…
I wear a 28H and I only actually discovered my size in October last year. I love bras because I can’t help but love how confident they make me feel. Up until April last year I was wearing a 34D or 32DD – most stores here don’t stock anything below a 32 band or above a D cup, and I’d never even heard of Freya, Curvy Kate or Panache.. It wasn’t until I started dating my current boyfriend and his ex girlfriend encouraged me to go and get fitted at a small store I’d never heard of. I was fitted into an 30FF, which was a much better fit than anything I’d had before, but before long it stretched and was as good as useless. I eventually found Figleaves and searched the internet for reviews of the bras I intended to purchase. This is when I found Invest In Your Chest, which I used as a guide for my first few bras.
I just love the confidence I get from these garments; I don’t feel like I have to hide my body anymore. I’m just as beautiful as the flat chested girls now. I never thought bras could give me so much self confidence, It’s crazy!
Before I even bought this set I was in love with it. I love the colour and the shape, and those straps – oh how soft they looked! And surprisingly enough this bra is better than it looks, pictures just do not do this one justice. The beautiful spirally, florally but sexy overlay in dark charcoal grey and a purplish maroon is actually just so beautiful.
I got my normal size, which is 28H and this size fits me in every other brand of bra I’ve tried so far. The cups and back are true to size, but the back stretches rather quickly, so potentially getting a back band smaller than your usual and maybe a back extender to start you off.
It also gives me the most cleavage I have ever had in my life – I struggle to get any cleavage because of my breast shape – so this one giving me a cleavage is a great discovery for me.The straps aren’t fully adjustable, which for me is normally a big put off when it comes to buying lingerie (as I have a short torso which almost always gives me trouble with partially adjustable straps) but I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It’s just PERFECT with the straps just at their tightest. Plus the straps are padded and oh-so comfy! They’re definitely straps from heaven.
Now, the downside – the back, is really, REALLY, ridiculously thin…
…which really doesn’t make it practical for a whole days wear, which is unfortunate. It only fastens with 2 hooks, and it’s the thinnest backed bra I have ever seen, let alone owned. A bad move on the designers part; the back doesn’t make the bra anymore attractive, so why so thin?
Even with its thin, ridiculous back, and partially adjustable straps it’s still a fantastic bra. Its comfort is unmatched and he straps are so comfortable I forget they’re even there. The cups offer fantastic uplift and cleavage, I’d definitely recommend trying this one.
And onto the gorgeous basque!
I once again got my normal size. But unlike the bra, I found the back to be a little large, and the cups ever so slightly larger than the bra (are they supposed to be like that?) The cups still fit fine, but I would of preferred it was tighter in the back/body…I need it on the tightest hooks or it still kinda rides up at the back, which I didn’t expect. I thought having that many clips might help prevent riding up. So I’d probably recommend going down a band size if possible…
But either way, it is gorgeous! I guess if you don’t mind showing a bit of boob, this one could definitely be underwear as outerwear. It’s really gorgeous, sexy, and figure flattering for us curvy girls.
One other thing I might mention is that the body under-wires can pretty easily be seen through tight tops, which is probably rather obvious, but they’re actually quite noticeable. I also had to cut a little hole in the inside and slide two of the under-wires out of the body, the two central ones which go over the front of the ribs. Every time I sat down they bent in and crushed my ribs. And when I stood up, one pushed out funny and made me look like I had a big lump under my breast. Removing them of course had no negative effects on the beautiful outside, and now I can wear it with comfort.
Just on a side note – I also got the thong, which runs ever so slightly larger in sizing I’d imagine. I needed the 8, where I normally need a 10, or small, in any kind of knickers.

Another downside is that it comes with a hefty price tag. In this case, a big price. The basque is £61.00…Ouch! I could buy two bras for the price of this, maybe three! And the Balconette bra is £39.00, which is quite a lot of money, so much I would of never thought of buying and just spent my time drooling over…thanks to the boyfriend for this one. Thank god he pays attention to my bra size I suppose!
So in conclusion, like every piece of lingerie, it has its pros and cons. But I’d definitely say the comfort, style, and shape outweigh anything bad. And my only problem with the bra is the back band. Other than that, this bra is heavenly. And I’d recommend it to all the bigger busted ladies!“
