Last year, Becky and I were lucky enough to get our hands on one of the hottest tickets in the lingerie industry: The Lingerie Insight UK Lingerie Awards.
Our poshest of togs and highest of heels made an appearance on the red carpet, and we shuffled our way down it like a pair of deer in headlights.
The event itself was all the glamour and glitz that you’d expect, with lingerie celebs like Caprice and Michelle Mone making an appearance, but in all honesty I was more interested in the bottomless champagne, five star dining and three-way steak. Oh God.
Now that the awards are just around the corner, we thought we’d go ahead and give our own ‘nominations’ – based on last year’s categories. Be warned, they may be ever so slightly (read: extremely) skewed towards full bust brands since that’s all we really experience fully.
Independent Directional Brand of the Year: Fraulein Annie, Lilly Wiggler and Ewa Michalak – all bringing something new and fresh to the full bust lingerie table.
Independent Retailer of the Year: Bravissimo – no contest there.
Best Marketing Campaign: Curvy Kate’s ‘Star in a Bra’ competition, Freya’s affiliation with England Netball and Figleaves’ tube poster campaigns.
Full Bust Brand of the Year: We simply can’t choose between old favourites Freya, Cleo by Panache and Curvy Kate
Most Innovative Brand of the Year: Curvy Kate – innovative new additions like the ‘Smoothie’ (a moulded bra up to a J cup) and the ‘Desire’ (a multi-way plunge up to a J cup) cannot go unrecognized!
New Designer of the Year: Fraulein Annie – such stunning, unique designs that are completely unmissable!
Sports Bra Brand of the Year: Panache and Freya Active – don’t make me pick between them because I just can’t.
Swimwear brand of the Year: Panache – still the best styles and fit in the full bust swimwear world.
Online Retailer of the Year: Figleaves – who have never let me down after years of being a customer, and have the best size and style range, like, ever!
