Fussy Busty Follow Fridays Blogger Interview

Hello and welcome back to Follow Fridays!
2012 was an incredible year in lingerie blogging, and for me the appearance of Fussy Busty was one of the biggest cherries on the 2012 cake. Her new perspective of being a larger plus sized, fuller figured and fuller busted woman is very unique, so her blog caters particularly well to that body type.
For the rest of us, it’s still an excellently provoking, informative and often very funny blog. A great read
Hi Nicole, thanks for letting us grill you! Please could you give us a little introduction?
Well, I just finished up my master’s in psychology, which was an undertaking in itself. I’m also currently working with a partner to open a bra boutique in our city, something that we are in dire need of. In fear of being cliché in my responses, I do love to read, am obsessed with my dogs, and love to sing my heart out. I even participated in a karaoke contest over the summer.
When did you start your blog and why?
I started my blog in July of this year. Basically, I had been reading a handful of other blogs, and after finding my “real size” I wanted to share my experiences with other people. I’m on the larger end of plus-sized (US 22; which is like..a UK 26?), and there’s not too many bra blogs that represent this perspective. So, I started my blog. Also, I’m from Ohio. And there are 0 bra bloggers in Ohio.
Which other lingerie blogs do you read the most?
I read A Sophisticated Pair’s blog, Sweet Nothings NYC, The Lingerie Lesbian, Obsessed with Breasts, Braless in Brasil and The Butterfly Collection blog. Oh, and BraNightmares. There’s too many to list! Check my blogroll. I love reading them all.
Where do you recommend people go get fitted?
Honestly? I’d recommend most people either get fitted by me if they’re close to me, OR learn how to fit themselves. There’s not too many options in my area other than Nordstrom, Lane Bryant and Victoria’s Secret and no one I have talked to has ever had any good experiences there. Knowing how a bra is supposed to fit, on your own, is your best bet.
Which brand do you think suits your shape and style best?
I’d say that it’s a toss up between Elomi or Panache. Wide wires are this girl’s best friend.
What is your ‘desert island’ lingerie set?
My Elomi Valentina set. Comfortable yet very, very sexy.

What, in your opinion, are the biggest upcoming trends in the lingerie world this Spring/Summer?
Pastel colors with kitschy prints. Also, recognizing the plus size woman that wants style. Hello Panache Sculptresse line….
Are you a plunge or a balconette girl?
I have really soft breast tissue, so I usually go for a balconette to keep these pups under control. Although, I am very much loving the Elomi plunge bras because they are not too push-up like.

What is your lingerie guilty pleasure?
Curvy Kate bras. I could be broke, homeless, and have no food…and I’d still want to use any of my money to buy Curvy Kate bras, even though they don’t give me the best shape. They are just so pretty.
What do you think is missing from the current lingerie market?
Affordable matching panties in good size ranges. I can wear a 38 band in Panache’s bras, but even their largest size of panties is too small. And they are really expensive. I’m not too keen on spending $32 on one pair of knickers.

Thanks, Nicole, for being the first blogger of 2013 to take part in Follow Fridays!
