Since Becky very sadly had to go see her favourite band of all time and missed out on the last Moda show, she’d not seem these collections ‘in the flesh’, so she was particularly keen to go along to Eveden’s press event for their Spring/Summer 2013 collections for their brands Freya, Fantasie, Elomi and Huit.
I’d seen them before back in August, and I was actually just as keen to see them all over again. I remember the Freya collection being particularly strong, and as a bit of a Freya Fanatic I definitely spent most of my time cooing over their new offering at the Birmingham trade show.
What I didn’t remember quite so much, is just how developed the other sister brands had developed their identity this one step further. The beauty about all of Eveden’s brands is that each speaks to a different type of customer, but all are fashion-focussed and boast loads of style choice and effortless, consistent fit.
We decided to go through each of the brands and pick the one standout piece that was our personal favourites. Funnily enough there wasn’t too much cross-over and we liked a fair few different pieces. Some times we simply couldn’t pick just one, though. Oops!
Freya
So I was up first and I (predictably) had to pick two from Freya. I have a huge soft spot for Beau (28-38 B-Hcups) after I gave last Spring/Summer’s colour-way a very well-deserved 10/10, and I couldn’t resist this sweet pink shade for summer. This one will definitely be on my ‘treat myself’ list.
Secondly I had to go for the stunning Deco Flamingo (28-38 B-GG cups) as it’s a very brave move by the brand to take such a classic and give it a really bold, kitsch twist. I predicted that one of the top trends for the season would be just that, so it may well pay off!
Becky went for the very two choices that I thought she would. These two are so *her*, and I suspect the brand’s designers might have tapped into her subconscious for ideas – these are Becky in a bra!
First up it had to be the Hello Dolly (28-38 D-K cups). Now, Becky has loved Russian dolls for as long as I can remember – even wanting one inked permanently onto her skin in the not too distant future. I just knew as soon as I saw this one at Moda that it would be on the top of her lust list. And I was right. *smiles smugly*.
Just Flew In (balcony bra 28-38 D-K cup, longline 28-38 C-G) was another choice I predicted for Becky from the off-set. She’s a sucker for bird print, particularly anything with an Oriental vibe, and that sugary-sweet colour way is simply to die for. Gorge!
Fantasie
For me, this one wasn’t a particularly difficult choice. Out of all the Eveden brands, it’s the one I identify with the least, and purely from a personal preference perspective was definitely my least favourite of all the others on display that day. As my ‘best pick’ I went for this very classic and unashamedly plain ‘Jana’ (balcony 30-40 F-K, moulded version 30-38 D-GG) as it best reflects what for me – and according to the buzzline of the front cover of the catalogue – what Fantasie is all about: ‘Pure and Simple’.
Becky’s choice from Fantasie was the front cover star ‘Delilah’; (30-38 D-J) with a pretty yet subtle and sweet grey floral. Aww.
Fauve
We really pricked up our ears at Fauve. Eveden’s higher-end, more grown up and sophisticated brand oozes old Hollywood glamour, high quality design and fabrics, all the extra trimmings and a whole lot of style.
My favourite was this drop dead gorgeous ‘Coco’ style, in an irresistable mint and cream lace, which looked good enough to eat. There’s nothing like a bit of soft satin and lace to get a lingerie blogger’s heart racing.
Becky opted for the delicious Bronte style (padded long-line 30-38 D – G, balcony 30-38 D-G and 36GG), apparently set to be a very popular option for Valentines for those who want something other than the predictable red.
The delectable ‘spice’ colour-way – a red-toned orange with double the personality – is really unique and would look great with all skin tones. There are quite a few different coordinates to go with this one; I personally have my eye on the loungewear chemise… yum!
Huit
Huit was definitely a unanimous decision. As you can see. It had to be the ‘Arpège’ style in this simply stunning saffron yellow. Give. It. To. Me.
Ok, so it doesn’t come in either of our sizes, but when lingerie is this beautiful you can definitely just hang it on the wall.
Elomi
Elomi is probably the collection we found most difficult to choose from. I think over the past year or so, the brand has grown the most and has come along so much that we think this year’s collection deserves a standing ovation all of its own. In the past, Elomi as a brand was fairly well known for big bras which did the job of supporting and flattering a larger bust and shape, but as pieces alone they weren’t really anything to shout about. Nowadays, Elomi’s frumpy past lies well and truly forgotten in the deep darkness of yesteryear, and it’s a bold, vibrant collection that any fashionista would be proud to wear. In fact, we want some in our sizes!!
Thanks to Eveden for the awesome event, beautiful models, delicious mocktails, expert fitting and posh marshmallows, you are the best!
