I’ve received a lot of great feedback for my blog post about The Little Bra Company, as it focuses on a size group which remains largely uncovered in the lingerie blogging world. One of my favourite smaller bust bloggers is Of Lambs and Lace, who does IN-credible reviews into smaller bust brands, writes beautifully and even has a blog category specifically catered to Brands for Small Busts. Wowza.
I have to admit, this was one of the most fun blog posts I’ve written in a long time. It basically consisted of online shopping, but without the budget or guilt. Best thing ever! I’ve simply put together the top 10 bras that I would pick if I were to ask for lingerie for Christmas. You may not agree with my choices, but it may give you some ideas of what to ask Santa for, or even what to pick up for your significant other.
It’s the post you’ve all be waiting for, and one of my favourites to do (such a shame it only comes around twice a year, sob sob). As always I’ve been on the look out for exciting new releases from brands we know and love as well as new, fresh faces, as well as key shades, themes and shapes that we’ll all get to enjoy come the beginning of next year. So what does Spring/Summer 2013 have to offer us? Let’s have a look-see:
I think I must have been living under a rock for the past year in a half as I’ve not come yet reviewed a Mimi Holiday bra on my blog, despite being pleasantly reminded at the Moda Exhibition last weekend that their size range is the very respectable 28-40 AA-GG. Similarly to Miss Mandalay, Mimi Holiday’s higher price point has been one of the main reasons I’ve admired from afar; they’re a little higher than the average student’s lingerie budget, averaging at £50 a bra on Simply Yours. Now I’ve found myself in one of those ever-elusive things called a job, I’ve started to expand my lingerie horizons to the slightly more expensive brands. And boy are they worth the extra pennies.
Moda is without question the event in the UK lingerie calendar year. It is (unless you have the time and money to fly yourself to Paris, Vegas or New York for the Salon de la Lingerie or Curve exhibitions) the first place to see the upcoming trends and collections from your favourite big brands. This season’s Moda did not disappoint, with some really fantastic sets and collections from the likes of Freya, Cleo by Panache, Masquerade, Mimi Holiday, Miss Mandalay, Curvy Kate and Charnos being some of my personal favourites. We’re really in for a treat for Autumn/Winter 2012, and I thought I’d share with you some of the recurring trends and top picks from the full bust category. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!
As it’s Valentine’s Day in less than two weeks (Yes boys – it really is that soon!) I thought I’d share some of my favourite romantic sets to get you in the mood for love. All are available in a 28 band and a D+ cup for the lady in your life who struggles to find a beautiful bra with the perfect fit. Mimi Holliday: Creme Brulee Polka Bra
Any TOWIE fan will be well aware that the hit TV series’ Jessica Wright has embarked on the venture of opening her own lingerie boutique. The naysayers may ask ‘what does a girl from Essex know about owning her own lingerie business?’, but as the face of luxury lingerie brand Alexis Smith, Jessica has more than the average insight into the world of lingerie. Her gorgeous little shop in Loughton, Essex, (a stone’s throw from Lydia Bright’s cake, fashion and gift shop Bella Sorella) is a luxury boutique experience with the likes of Mimi Holiday by Damaris, Miss Mandalay, Baci Lingerie, Blue Bella, By Caprice and of course, Alexis Smith.
