I have to admit, this was one of the most fun blog posts I’ve written in a long time. It basically consisted of online shopping, but without the budget or guilt. Best thing ever! I’ve simply put together the top 10 bras that I would pick if I were to ask for lingerie for Christmas. You may not agree with my choices, but it may give you some ideas of what to ask Santa for, or even what to pick up for your significant other.
It’s the post you’ve all be waiting for, and one of my favourites to do (such a shame it only comes around twice a year, sob sob). As always I’ve been on the look out for exciting new releases from brands we know and love as well as new, fresh faces, as well as key shades, themes and shapes that we’ll all get to enjoy come the beginning of next year. So what does Spring/Summer 2013 have to offer us? Let’s have a look-see:
Hanami party – Kyoto, Japan Some of you may be aware that I visited my #1 worldwide destination earlier this year: Japan. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I would encourage anyone who has been fascinated by either the beautiful, the culture, the Anime, the ancient, the architecture, the technological, the weird and wonderful (or in my case, all of the above!) of Japan to visit at least once in their lifetime.
I’m having a bit of a dilemma of what to wear as soon as I (eventually) get out of my festive pyjamas- something that every lingerie fanatic will face today: what lingerie do I wear Christmas day? Option one is Fauve’s lovely Lucia. How adorable is this set?! Fauve, the expensive older sister (think a classy, well behaved, grown up sibling to Freyas rebellious teenager) is a brand that I’ve lusted over but always overlooked, mainly given the price. The exquisite pieces are beautiful and I adore them but as a part time student and struggling writer, they’ve always been just a little put of my price range. When the Leia voucher popped up on (whatever the website was) I jumped at the chance to treat myself, ESPECIALLY when I realised there was a Fauve outlet page. Yipee!
Any TOWIE fan will be well aware that the hit TV series’ Jessica Wright has embarked on the venture of opening her own lingerie boutique. The naysayers may ask ‘what does a girl from Essex know about owning her own lingerie business?’, but as the face of luxury lingerie brand Alexis Smith, Jessica has more than the average insight into the world of lingerie. Her gorgeous little shop in Loughton, Essex, (a stone’s throw from Lydia Bright’s cake, fashion and gift shop Bella Sorella) is a luxury boutique experience with the likes of Mimi Holiday by Damaris, Miss Mandalay, Baci Lingerie, Blue Bella, By Caprice and of course, Alexis Smith.
I’ve been a long-standing fan of Busts 4 Justice since their epic battle against tit-tax back in 2007, and the fabulous Busts 4 Justice blog has kept me hooked ever since. Author Beckie Williams writes topical, interesting (and sometimes controversial!) posts about the joys and faux pas’ of The Lingerie World. Her sparkling wit and talent to spot a great story has often engaged me and left me thinking, her charming way with words and delightful anecdotes (anyone else fancy a ride on Cecil?!) has kept me going back to the ‘B4J’ blog time and time again, but recently, I left feeling dismayed.
Leia Lingerie are hosting their own little Christmas giveaway with a fabulous prize of a luxury lingerie set from their gorgeous collection. If you just hop, skip or jump over to the Leia Lingerie Facebook page, you’ll be directed to fill out a quick survey whereby you pick your Christmas Wish List from a selection of beautiful Fauve and Freya lingerie. Once you’ve taken part, a winner will be selected from random to win a set of their choice. If only Christmas shopping were that easy!
One of our favourite luxury online lingerie retailers Figleaves has teamed up with the whizz kids at SaveMe4Later, creating the first interactive advertising campaign featuring Figleaves’ products on adverts in the London Underground, set to launch tommorow, Monday 28th November 2011. SaveMe4Later introduces its complicated and very impressive techno-savvy technology which uses phone scanners on the underground via an offline saving capability.
When Cheryl and I went to MODA together back in August, we were lucky enough to see most of the S/S12 collection, but nothing quite compares to a press event. There’s a sense of urgency at Moda – as bloggers we can feel in the way of ‘serious’ buyers and not really take our time going through the collections. By this I actually mean cuddling them all in sheer glee and taking a million photos to lust over at a later date. Don’t get me wrong, Moda is wonderful and all the brands are so welcoming, but as Freya fan girls sometimes we just need an unnecessary amount of time with the beautiful lingerie, and the recent Eveden press event was the perfect opportunity for this. Sadly Cheryl could’t come for the day, much to her annoyance (read: strop) and whilst I was going along any ways, I realised it was time I stepped up my game and masqueraded as a different blonde for the day. Instructed to take as many photos as I possibly could, off I went to London, invite in hand. We were advised before that the day would take on a 1920’s, art deco theme and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
