A few weeks back, Becky and I completed the first leg of our bi-annual pilgrimage to Moda exhibitions, to get the scoop on what’s to come in the the world of lingerie trends. This season it’s Autumn/Winter that was being exhibited, (I know, it’s a bit like time travel) and we’ve put together our take on what we have to look forward to later this year. Digital Floral Prints Floral print is well and truly in for AW15, but it’s go a modern edge. Prints are vibrant, clashing, and have a digital element to them. Prints have that ‘photographic’ look to them. It’s not really the time of year you’d expect to see a floral, and I have to say I find the ditzy floral look pretty tired and not to my current taste, but these were really stunning and seemed to give a fresh kick to the trend. Colours are also much bolder, tying in nicely with the technicolour trend: ‘multichromatic’. Freya Lingerie Freya Lingerie Freya Lingerie Tutti Rouge Freya Lingerie Green with Envy The shade of the season seems to be green. A really gorgeous, vibrant, shamrock green. It was everywhere! I personally love this shade, especially for Autumn/Winter. It’s festive, but a little different from the more predictable red that EVERYONE seems to roll out at Christmas/Valentine’s Day. If you don’t follow Becky or I on social media, you will have missed out on our Instagram preview of Scantilly, a raunchy new release from the same guys and gals behind Curvy Kate. Poor you! We were treated to the exclusive preview at Moda Exhibition, and I’m pretty confident in saying that I can’t be the only bigger-boobed lady who is excited by the launch of this new brand. The ‘every day’ lingerie market has really exploded in the past five years from something that caters to a huge chunk of women looking for pretty everyday bras which don’t make yo feel like you’ve raided your granny’s top drawer.
Just when you thought our onslaught of Parfait love was over, we’ve got a first-glimpse look at their up-and-coming Autumn Winter range for 2015! Our creative adaption of the look and feel of the Parfait by Affinitas campaign imagery continued and evolved into AW15. The hair was amped up and the makeup was a little darker, but the same grown-up and seductive feel was carried through into the next season. We wanted to make sure that the brand stood out from the noise and made a statement with this sultry attitude which is seriously lacking in the full bust lingerie world.
Just imagine; it’s 6am, and you’re waking up on a freezing December morning – you can see your own breath in the room and the thought of leaving your duvet seems about as appealing as swimming with piranhas. That is, unless you have a lingerie photoshoot to go to. If I had this agenda every winter morning I’d be springing out of bed and into the wintery wilderness like a jack-in-a-box. Who needs fluffy pyjamas and cosy surroundings when you could be in a elegantly dishevelled photography studio in North London surrounded by bras, models and endless cups of tea?
Last month I was lucky enough to be invited to one of the hottest UK lingerie events: The Cosmopolitan Lingerie Show. This was the first year I’d ever been to the event, and after keenly following blog posts and social media after the event for quite a few years now, it was amazing to be there and wrapped up in this super-glam celebration of lingerie.
On Tuesday I was invited along to the Old Town Hall in Chelsea for Calico PR’s Catwalk Edit, where they showcased the brands they represent’s latest collections and gave both brands, press and PRs a chance to network and introduce themselves. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day, enjoyed seeing some old faces and some new, but best of all made some pretty exciting brand discoveries for both regular and fuller cup.
Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the press preview of Triumph Lingerie’s latest innovation: the Magic Wire. Here at Invest In Your Chest we love a bit of lingerie fashion and a cute print, but what we love even more is bra technology and innovation. We get very excited about new designs and inventions created by clever lingerie brand design teams with the intention of making the bra-wearing experience that much more enjoyable. So, what’s it all about?
I just wanted to write a quick post to update you guys on the IIYC & Triumph Bra Club meet and greet event I’ve been planning with Triumph International on Monday the 9th of June, and I’m stunned to announce that this event in now fully booked. I truly wasn’t expecting for there to be such an amazing response to this, and it’s incredible to have your love and support. I’m so thrilled and excited to meet you all in 12 days’ time.
After being kindly invited to attend the gorgeous Triumph popup shop in Covent Garden for a bra fitting, the brand and I have knocked our heads together and decided to host a fitting event for all Invest in Your Chest readers to come along, get fitted and try some Triumph lingerie for themselves. Any IIYC readers who can pop along (as well as hanging out with me and a handful of other bloggers) will receive a complimentary fitting and a free set of their choice in their new size. If that’s not a good excuse to get re-fitted I don’t know what is!
