Star in a Bra is a competition that I’ve followed since the beginning – I remember back when Lauren Colfer and Laura Butler stormed their year’s competitions and showed us all how it was done. I’ve been everything from a spectating fellow Curvy Kate fan, to a rejected entrant, to a top 30 finalist to a judge. So I think it’s safe to say I’ve seen the competition from every possible angle.
I’m a sucker for a campaign which combines two of my dearest loves: lingerie and music, so when the lovely guys and gays at Freya Lingerie announced their romantic Freya Heartbeats campaign, I fell for it hook, line and sinker. Their latest interactive campaign, (this is quite a year for Freya’s fun competitions, no?) encourages users to submit their couple’s love song to the Freya Heartbeats playlist on Spotify.
Claudette have, quite literally, burst on to the scene following the release of their ‘Neon Dessous’ collection. With a loyal following from top blogger The Lingerie Addict for what seems like forever, I recall seeing the brand on her blog and falling in love with the simple yet effective design in those gorgeous acid bright colours. The brand even made her ‘Favorite Lingerie Brands of 2011‘ list. Quite a feat indeed!
We’ve been well and truly treated by this year’s Star in a Bra competitions. We’ve had the drop-dead-gorgeous UK winner Sophie Morgan, and joining her this week is the first ever US winner, Krista Cousins. 30GG Krista, 24 from Brooklyn, New York, beat hundreds of other hopefuls through two gruelling voting rounds. She will front Curvy Kate‘s award-winning marketing campaigns – includes flights to the UK to appear in the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2013 brochure.
Invest in Your Chest favourites Freya have announced the re-launched of their amazing ‘Blog Star’ competition, to find the next contributor for their blog Fitting Talk. Launched today on the Freya website, their ‘Blog Star’ competition has returned to offer bloggers as well as lingerie and fashion enthusiasts the chance to join the Freya blog panel.
They’ve gotten into their bra and knickers and snapped their entry shots, they’ve submitted their five photos to Curvy Kate’s panel of judges, they’ve beaten over 1000 other curvy hopefuls to the top 30 and faced the public vote, they’ve been whittled down to the public’s top 10; been preened, pampered, backcombed, and snapped by a professional photographer at the top 10 photo shoot, and they’ve faced the public vote. Again.
