If you’ve been following me on Instagram or Twitter you may have seen my incessant mentions of My Fitness Pal and going to the gym more often than I go to the bathroom. I’ve been following this updated gym routine since January (I know, a New Year’s Resolution that I’ve actually stuck to for longer than 2 weeks!), and I’m pretty chuffed to have dropped a dress size and lost 9kg in just three months.
When it comes to buying bras, or anything for that matter, I’m what can only be described as a ‘massive bargain hunter’. It’s extremely rare that I’ll buy anything full price, and my lingerie addiction rarely evades this philosophy. The good news is there are so so so many options for frugal frillies – so for those of you waiting on payday or your student loan, you needn’t wait to kit out your top drawer!
The Tempt Me is a set from Curvy Kate which I’ve always kept a wide berth of as some regular readers may know I don’t have much luck with deep ‘V’ plunge bras for one reason or another. I bought the Tempt Me a good few months ago in my usual 28FF which I found to be ridiculously small in the cups for me and a bit of a weird shape. After reading blogs from the likes of Amoire de Nuit who found that going down a band size and up THREE cup sizes the Tempt Me fit perfectly, still with ample fun and flirty cleavage. I followed this recipe as much as I could and bought myself a 28GG from Brastop.
Flirtelle is a brand which I’ve always been aware of but never really felt the need to investigate until now. Now I finally have a ‘real job’ which doesn’t involve a hideous uniform or plastic fleece pullover which makes pretty underwear redundant but wearable (you have to wear something nice under those generic, personality draining monstrosities in order to maintain some level of sanity!) yet now I work in an office I’ve discovered the need for strategic underwear – things that are, of course, still nice and offer a great fit, but need to be undetectable under a white pussy-bow blouse or button-up shirt.
Curvy Kate’s incredibly popular Star in a Bra has gone down under and the top five has been released this morning! Five beautiful curvy girls all with their own different beautiful bust sizes, hair colours, sizes and shapes but all gorgeously Curvy Kates. The girls have been pampered and preened in true SIAB style with glossy locks, big smiles and proudly-displayed curves, all hoping for your vote to become crowned this year’s bra star.
This is a bra which I’ve always noticed and been aware of, but never bought as there was always something else kicking about on Figleaves or Brastop which I wanted more. Now I have it though, after for so long being drawn to fun exciting bras with thrills and frills I may have finally found my perfect basic from Curvy Kate. I’ve always loved the brand mainly for their exquisite Showgirl collection, somewhat overlooking their more basic styles (although, that said I do LOVE my Emily bra).
Branching out from my usual bra-and-pants combo I decided to give a corset a try. Not something that I personally would wear on a day to day basis (I think it takes a certain level of style and confidence to pull something like this off – I am more at home in a cardi!) but I have heard great things about this company so decided to give one a whirl – and I was not disappointed!
